Ponderosa Pines is a full-service RV park and campground located right next to Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy.
The Good: Location, location, location. If you’re lucky, you can score a site on the Bay of Fundy, like we did in early October. The campground is located 5 minutes from Hopewell Rocks, one the best places to witness the Bay of Fundy tides that rise and fall 50 feet daily.
The Bad: The laundry room isn’t the cleanest, and there’s no swimming pool.
Ponderosa Pines boasts an amazing location on the Bay of Fundy, next to Hopewell Rocks, and a short drive from Fundy National Park. This is the closest RV park to Hopewell Rocks.
There are a number of big-rig friendly sites directly on the bay, each featuring expansive views of the bay and its tides that rise and fall 50 feet each day.
There’s a private fishing pond, canoe rentals, a playground, and walking trails.
The city of Moncton, NB, is just 30 minutes to the north. Although Ponderosa Pines sits a mere 7 miles from Joggins Fossil Cliffs (Nova Scotia) by boat, the cliffs are a 2-hour drive north through Montcon, east around the top of the bay, and south along the coast of Nova Scotia.
The campground’s big-rig friendly sites are organized around an open, flat grassy area – great for throwing a frisbee or walking the dog.
